Innovation Merchant Services, or QuickBooks Merchant Services as it is commonly known, is the only credit card processor authorized to work directly with QuickBooks products, such as QuickBooks Pro, Premier, Enterprise and Point-of-Sale. As such, company owners save time and money by getting paid faster, avoiding chasing down defaults and reconciling their monthly sales receipts to the bank account.

QuickBooks also offers a service called, “Billing Solutions,” which allows you to collect on invoices from customers and clients electronically via Innovative Merchant Services. With the added service, you allow the customer to click a link on the invoice that you send. They pay electronically, and you’re notified when the payment has been authorized and credited to your bank account. This is perfect for service-based firms, such as accountants, architects, engineers, lawyers, physicians, and others. You don’t have to keep waiting on the checks to come in!

How is it priced?

The fees can vary depending on your monthly sales volume and how you are collecting from your customers. Accounts with over $20,000 in sales transactions per month typically get the best rates in the credit card industry. But even if you don’t have that kind of volume, you can shave off credit card fees, or what credit card processors call the, “discount” by proactively collecting as much verifable information on the customer at the time of sale. For example, swiping the card gets you the best rate because the credit card company can verify the card this way. Keying in the card numbers garners a higher rate because of the possibility of card theft or identify compromise. Also, entering the security code, or AVS, gives you a lower rate because it further verifies the authenticity that the merchant has the credit card in hand.

* Must have a card reader to receive swipe rates.
+ Must provide address verification to receive better key-entered rates.
Note: Some cards are downgraded automatically.
